ROAD WORK SCHEDULED IN BURTON STARTING NEXT WEEK
Washington County road crews will soon be in Burton to perform repairs around town.
In a notice on Tuesday, the city said work will begin next week, the first week of August, weather-permitting.
Streets named in the notice that are on the current repair list are Live Oak Street, East Cedar Street, Brandie Lane, West Washington Street and San Marcos Street.
Crews will also be digging out ditches on South Main Street and possibly South Railroad Street.
County Engineer Wesley Stolz said the county anticipates having all of the roads completely paved by August 12th, before school starts on the 13th. Railroad and Cedar Streets, where the school traffic is directed, will be open during that time frame.
