According to White, settlements were reached on 70 percent of this year’s protests. The Appraisal Review Board has heard 169 value protests so far and approved value reductions or other changes on 47 of those cases. Approximately 300 protests remain.
White said the appraisal district is currently assisting taxing jurisdictions with tax rate calculations. During the months of August and September, property owners can see their estimated tax using the website, https://washington.countytaxrates.com. Users can find their specific property, the tax rates proposed, and when tax rate hearings are scheduled.

Remember they do not raise the rate just the evaluation every fricken year this is ridiculous. May departments need an outside review. Cut the fat.
Is that a misprint? The number of properties assessed were almost 5,000 less this year than last year? How does that happen?
Talk about poor timing you can’t make this up! Not helping the schools that’s for sure. I wish any of these leaders had a conscience. We the taxpayers have really had it with the never ending high taxes and abuse and waste of tax dollars. How many EMS stations and helicopters do we really need? Why does the top ten EMS personal make as much or more than the top BISD staff? At least BISD asks for money with a bond vote I don’t recall getting a vote on the TEN million a year EMS budget!
