BRENHAM CUB BAND MARCH-A-THON SET FOR AUG. 8

The start of school is around the corner, and that means it is almost time for a Brenham Cub Band tradition.

The band will put on its annual March-a-Thon on Friday, August 8th, playing marching tunes around the city as Brenham ISD families and supporters cheer them on.

The march begins at 7:45 a.m. in the First Baptist Church Day School parking lot.  The band will perform a concert for First Baptist Day School students at 8 a.m.

The band will then take the traditional parade route through downtown Brenham, traveling west on Main Street, turning at North Austin Street and heading east on Alamo Street.

Band members will play mini-concerts at Bank of Brenham and the Brenham ISD Central Office.  Depending on time and if it is early enough in the morning, the band will also play at Christ Lutheran Day School and the Margaret E. Blizzard Senior Activity Center.  The march will end at the Blue Bell Creameries parking lot.

The March-a-Thon is not only a display of Cub spirit, but it also serves as a fundraiser for the band program.  Anyone interested in donating can contact Band Director Eric Rettig at erettig@brenhamk-12.net
