SHERIFF’S OFFICE BOOKS IN EIGHT ON CHARGES INCLUDING DWI, CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE POSSESSION, BURGLARY WARRANT
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported eight arrests over the weekend.
A few minutes after 7:45 a.m. Friday, Corporal Zavala conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of South Main Street for driving on the wrong side of the road. The driver reportedly displayed signs of intoxication. 41-year-old Terrance Antrail Williams of Burton was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated Open Container and Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Responsibility.
At 2:45 p.m., Corporal Zavala conducted a traffic stop for speeding at FM 390 East and Mockingbird Road. During the contact, the sheriff’s office says the passenger discarded a marijuana cigarette in plain view. Marijuana and other narcotics belonging to the passenger were located during a search of the vehicle. 24-year-old Nicholas Dwayne Ray of Somerville was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz., Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, 4-200 Grams, Tampering/Fabricating Physical Evidence and No Seat Belt.
Close to 3:30 p.m., Deputy Presswood initiated a traffic stop in the 9500 block of Iron Bridge Road regarding a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon making contact, it was confirmed that a passenger, identified as 20-year-old Tayvian Ray Williams of Somerville, had an active warrant out of Bastrop County. Williams was taken to the Washington County Jail and charged with Burglary of Vehicles.
Just past 9:15 p.m., Corporal Vasquez initiated a traffic stop for a defective tail lamp in the 7800 block of Highway 290 West. The driver did not possess a valid driver’s license and was found to have an active warrant in Travis County. 42-year-old Edwin Manuel Hernandez of Houston was taken into custody for Driving While License Invalid and Driving While Intoxicated out of Travis County.
Around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Corporal Zavala conducted a traffic stop in the 9000 block of Highway 290 East for a registration violation. The sheriff’s office says it detected an odor of marijuana, to which the driver admitted to smoking earlier in the day. 24-year-old Winzell Williams IV of Houston was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and two counts of No Driver’s License, one being for an active warrant.
Shortly after 6:15 p.m., Corporal Pizarro took custody of a wanted person who had been detained by officers in Waller County. 34-year-old Cody Jenkins of Houston was booked in at the Washington County Jail for Bond Forfeiture – Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz.
Just after 2:15 a.m. Sunday, Sergeant Belman conducted a traffic stop near South Austin and West Alamo Streets for a vehicle driving the wrong way on a one-way street. The sheriff’s office says the driver did not have a driver’s license. 38-year-old Rumaldo Rodriguez-Rocha of Paige was taken to the Washington County Jail and charged with No Driver’s License.
At 12:15 p.m., Corporal Salinas conducted a traffic stop for speeding at Highway 105 and Ferguson Lane. Upon making contact, Corporal Salinas reported observing marijuana in plain view. The driver, 24-year-old Alaysia Xylynn McGuire of Washington, also had an active warrant out of Harris County for Assault Causing Bodily Injury. McGuire was transported to the Washington County Jail for the warrant and for Driving While License Invalid.
