KWHI TO MEET WITH BRENHAM ISD ADMINISTRATION ON STORM DAMAGE TO CAMPUSES, BACK-TO-SCHOOL PREPARATION
With the start of school a week away, questions remain regarding whether Brenham ISD’s facilities will be fully ready after severe storm damage in the spring.
Brenham Middle School and Brenham Junior High School sustained major roof and interior water damage as a result of the storms.
Property restoration and roofing crews have been performing repairs throughout the summer. However, families have expressed concerns about if there will need to be alternate arrangements made, should the work on campus not be complete in time for the return of students on August 13th. The district’s back-to-school events for Brenham Middle School and Brenham Junior High School were planned as drive-thru schedule pick-ups, rather than open house events.
KWHI plans to meet today (Wednesday) with Brenham ISD administrators to address questions about the ongoing repairs and the expected timeline for completion, if and how school operations will be impacted, and the district’s communication with the public on the matter.
