THREE ACCIDENTS AMONG SIX CALLS WEDNESDAY FOR BRENHAM FD

The Brenham Fire Department responded to six calls on Wednesday.

Three of the calls were for accidents.  The first was reported around 3:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Blue Bell Road, where units found a three-vehicle crash with one person needing to be extricated from the vehicle.  Fire department personnel used hydraulic tools to gain access to the patient and remove them from the vehicle before assisting with EMS patient care and transport.

A few minutes after 4:30 p.m., the department went out to a crash at Highway 290 and Highway 36 South.  There, firefighters found a two-vehicle accident on the shoulder and provided traffic control until both vehicles were moved.

Approaching 7:30 p.m., a crash was called in from the 1100 block of North Park Street.  The department discovered a two-vehicle accident that had moved into the parking lot.  Units checked for fluids, but no mitigation was needed.

No injuries were reported from the latter two accidents.

The department also responded to three alarm calls on Wednesday.  Shortly after 9:30 a.m., BFD members were dispatched to a fire alarm at a home in the 1400 block of Lake Ridge Drive.  Burnt food was found inside, and the department ventilated the residence.

Close to 11:15 a.m., firefighters were called out to a fire alarm at 802 Green Street on the Blinn College campus.  Maintenance officials were working on the alarm system.

Shortly past 12:30 p.m., a fire alarm was reported at Stanpac USA, 801 Mangrum Street.  The department found an issue with the alarm system and turned it over to the building personnel.
