OVEN FIRE ONE OF THREE CALLS FRIDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department was called out three times on Friday.

Around 8 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a transportation incident in the 300 block of South Market Street.  Upon arrival, they discovered a two-vehicle accident.  Units checked for injuries, but no one was hurt, so they returned to service.

At 12:45 p.m., BFD members responded to a report of a gas spill in the 100 block of Emile Street.  They made location and used dry absorbent to clean up a small spill before clearing the scene.

Just past 11 p.m., the department went out to a home in the 500 block of Riggs Street for a report of a structure fire.  Nothing was showing from the exterior of the home when units arrived, but upon entering, they found a small fire in the oven.  Firefighters extinguished the fire and ventilated the home.  No damage was done to the home.
