WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO PROPOSE TAX RATES FOR COUNTY, PECAN GLEN ROAD DISTRICT
Washington County Commissioners will look to propose property tax rates for the county and the Pecan Glen Road District at their meeting on Tuesday.
According to Commissioner Kirk Hanath, the court’s proposed tax rate for the county in the upcoming fiscal year will remain unchanged from the existing rate at $0.3840 per $100 valuation. The current makeup of the rate is $0.2975 for maintenance and operations (M&O), $0.0790 for road and bridge, and $0.0075 for interest and sinking (I&S).
In a public meeting for the Pecan Glen Road District, commissioners will seek to propose a tax rate of $0.284546 per $100. The proposed rate is less than the presently adopted rate of $0.297725.
Other regular session business for commissioners will include an amendment to the county’s interlocal cooperation contract with the DPS Crime Lab, possibly hiring an executive administrative assistant for a pay rate exceeding the 6 percent allowable amount in accordance with county policy, and acting on a salary exceeding the 6 percent allowable increase for the new Human Resources Director, Amber Skalka.
Commissioners will also:
- Read a proclamation declaring August 17th as Pilot Club of Brenham Day in Washington County.
- Consider an order of public interest and the plat revision for the Gates Crossing subdivision in Precinct 1.
- Act on an offer of road right-of-way dedication from Gardner Capital LLC for the public purpose of bridge reconstruction along Artesian Park Road in Precinct 4. A related item will be an agreement of road right-of-way acquisition from Glenn Rosenbaum and Judy Krause for the public purpose of bridge reconstruction.
- Consider a road use agreement for Audubon Companies, LLC on Dogwood and Adamek Road in Precinct 4.
- Discuss formal notices from Industry Communications for new service line installations across the county right-of-way of Dead-End Lane and Koether Road in Precinct 4.
Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
