FIVE PATIENTS TRANSPORTED FROM TWO ACCIDENTS TUESDAY

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded to two accidents on Tuesday that resulted in multiple people needing treatment.

At 7:45 p.m., members of the Brenham Fire Department and Berlin Volunteer Fire Department were called out to a crash with entrapment in the 5000 block of Highway 290 West.  They made location to find a two-vehicle accident with major damage.  Firefighters assisted with patient removal and traffic control at the scene.  Once all vehicles and debris were removed, all units cleared the call.

Approaching 11:45 p.m., another crash with entrapment was reported in the 1900 block of West Main Street.  Brenham units arrived to find a two-vehicle accident and proceeded to help with patient removal and traffic control.  Once the vehicles were cleared away, firefighters were released from the scene.

A total of five patients were transported, including four from the first accident and one from the second.  Updates on their condition were not available.

The Brenham Fire Department went out to three other calls on Tuesday.

At 6 a.m., units were dispatched to a fire alarm at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, 700 Medical Parkway, but the alarm was determined to be malfunctioning.

Just before 3 p.m., BFD members were called out to a home in the 1300 block of Bridge Street for a gas odor.  Firefighters and the City of Brenham Gas Department arrived to check the area for a leak or smell.  After investigation, the fire department was released.

Nearing 5:45 p.m., firefighters responded to a rescue at H-E-B, 2508 South Day Street.  However, upon making location, they found that no rescue was needed.
