CHARGES FOR 11 ARRESTED BY SHERIFF’S OFFICE INCLUDE ASSAULT, DWI, NARCOTICS POSSESSION
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported a busy Labor Day weekend, with 11 arrests between Thursday and Monday.
Just before 11 a.m. Thursday, Corporal Crosby conducted a traffic stop in the 11000 block of Highway 36 for speeding. The driver, 33-year-old Kelly Dalton McAlister of Brenham, was found to have outstanding municipal court warrants and was taken into custody. He was transported to the Washington County Jail for Speeding and two counts of Display/Expired Registration.
Shortly after 9:30 a.m. Saturday, deputies conducted a warrant service in the 13600 block of Highway 105. 41-year-old Donald Kirk Wilson II of Brenham was taken into custody and booked in at the Washington County Jail, where he was charged with Motion to Revoke warrants for Resisting Arrest, Search or Transport and Criminal Trespass of a Habitation or Shelter.
Approaching 4:45 p.m., Corporal Zavala conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Prairie Lea Street for an expired registration. The driver, 34-year-old Coty Rian Plunk of Brenham, had several active warrants. Plunk was taken to the Washington County Jail and charged with two counts of Driving While License Invalid, Display/Expired Registration and Driving While License Invalid Enhanced.
A few minutes past 9:30 p.m., Corporal Zavala conducted a traffic stop at Highway 290 West and Old Burton Road for an expired registration. Upon making contact, the sheriff’s office detected an odor of marijuana and reported finding marijuana and drug paraphernalia during a search of the vehicle. The driver, 33-year-old Karica Laine Denny of Dripping Springs, claimed possession of the contraband. Denny was transported to the Washington County Jail for Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
On Sunday, close to 12:15 a.m., Corporal Salinas conducted a traffic stop in the 10300 block of FM 2193 for expired registration. The sheriff’s office made contact and reported detecting an odor of marijuana. The driver admitted to having a handgun in the vehicle, which he was not permitted to possess due to having a prior conviction of Assault Family Violence. 25-year-old Brian O’Neil McDonald Jr. of Brenham was taken to the Washington County Jail and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Involving a Family or Household Member, No Driver’s License, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility and Display of Wrong, Altered or Obscured License Plate.
Just after 1:15 a.m., Corporal Zavala responded to a welfare concern involving a vehicle in the 8800 block of FM 1371. Corporal Zavala located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The sheriff’s office stated that the driver, 34-year-old Luther O’Neal Ragston III of Brenham, displayed signs of impairment. Ragston was transported to the Washington County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More, No Driver’s License and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 4-400 Grams.
Around 8 p.m., deputies responded to locations within Burton in reference to a subject who was reportedly trespassing and causing a disturbance. 63-year-old Gregory Paul Lockett of Brenham was located and taken into custody. He was transported to Baylor Scott & White for medical clearance, and while there, the sheriff’s office stated that he attempted to spit on hospital staff while using vulgar language. Lockett was booked in at the Washington County Jail and charged with Assault of Hospital Personnel on Hospital Property and Disorderly Conduct.
Just shy of 10:45 p.m., Corporal Salinas made contact with a suspicious vehicle in the 12400 block of LBJ Drive. One of the occupants, identified as 26-year-old Jacinto Perez-Gonzales of Somerville, was taken into custody for an active warrant in Brazos County. He was transported to the Washington County Jail where, according to the sheriff’s office, methamphetamine was located in his wallet. He was charged with Failure to Identify as a Fugitive from Justice, Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, and Prohibited Substance/Item in a Correctional Facility.
Around 5:15 a.m. Monday, Corporal Crosby conducted a traffic stop in the 6100 block of Highway 290 East for failing to signal a lane change. Due to what the sheriff’s office described as behavioral indicators from the occupants, a Waller County K-9 was requested, and a search of the vehicle resulted in a positive alert. Both occupants were taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for booking. 30-year-old Juan Carlos Bautista of Katy was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, while 29-year-old Jordan Lewis of Franklin, Indiana was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, 4-200 Grams.
Close to 3:30 p.m., Corporal Crosby conducted a traffic stop in the 3200 block of Highway 290 West for an obscured license plate. The sheriff’s office detected an odor of marijuana and performed a search of the vehicle, resulting in the discovery of various narcotics and a weapon, which the driver claimed possession of. 37-year-old Jermaine Erod Demarcus Fisher of Houston was booked in at the Washington County Jail for three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, including Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, Penalty Group 1, 1-4 Grams, and Penalty Group 2, Less Than a Gram. He was also charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon and Driving While License Invalid.
