The Washington County Sheriff’s Office made two arrests between Monday and Tuesday, one on charges including theft of a firearm and another for a license plate violation.

Bobby Glen Stacy
(Washington Co. Jail)

Just shy of 11 p.m. Monday, Deputy Matthew Brown conducted a traffic stop at Highway 290 West and Lange Lake Road for an expired temporary license tag.  The sheriff’s office says the driver, 51-year-old Bobby Glen Stacy of Baytown, had an invalid driver’s license and advised that he had a weapon in the vehicle.  The weapon, along with methamphetamines, were located during a search of the vehicle.  A check on the weapon revealed that it was stolen out of League City.  Stacy was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was charged with Driving While License Invalid Enhanced, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, Theft of a Firearm and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram.

Logan Douglas Preuss
(Washington Co. Jail)

Close to 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sergeant Adam Zavala initiated a traffic stop at Highway 290 West and Lomax Harmel Road for no front license plate.  While conducting the stop, the sheriff’s office reported finding a license plate flipper on the vehicle.  A license plate flipper is a device that allows the user to switch between two or more license plates.  The driver, 18-year-old Logan Douglas Preuss of Spring, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail for Possession of License Plate Flipper.
