SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES A DWI ARREST IN BURLESON COUNTY
An early morning motorist found himself behind bars after a Burleson County Sheriff’s Deputy found him asleep at the wheel and intoxicated.
The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at 6:15am this (Friday) morning to a welfare concern.
A deputy arrived on the scene near the Cooks Point Gas Station to find a vehicle stopped in the middle of the westbound lane on Highway 21, but there were no hazard lights on.
The deputy found the driver, who was later identified as Pedro Vasquez, asleep behind the wheel, and with the vehicle still in gear.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the deputy woke Vasquez up, and determined him to be intoxicated.
Vasquez said he had left a party at a family member’s home.
The deputy arrested Vasquez, and took him to the Burleson County Jail in Caldwell, where he was booked in for a charge of Driving While Intoxicated.
