The Snook School Board met on September 30th to unanimously select Kimberly Giesenschlag as the lone finalist for superintendent.

Giesenschlag is currently the district’s assistant superintendent for curriculum and federal programs.  She was originally hired in April to serve as principal at Snook Elementary School.

A 2005 graduate of Snook High School, Giesenschlag received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University and a Master of Education from Texas State University.

Giesenschlag held teaching roles in Washington state and San Marcos CISD, as well as administrative duties in San Marcos, before returning to Snook in 2016 and taking on assistant principal and principal positions in Bryan ISD.  During her time in Bryan ISD, she was twice named Administrator of the Year and received the Secondary Principal of the Year Award from the Texas Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.

Giesenschlag told the Burleson County Tribune, “Snook ISD helped shape me, and to have the opportunity to come back and serve this community is an honor I don’t take lightly.”

The superintendent position opened in June after Dr. Megan Pape announced she would be accepting the superintendent’s job in Royal ISD.

The Snook School Board may officially vote to hire Giesenschlag as superintendent at the end of a 21-day waiting period.
