17TH ANNUAL SHANE HANCHEY INVITATIONAL THIS WEEKEND
The Top 50 Ropers in the world will be converging on Giddings this weekend for 2025 Shane Hanchey Invitational Open Tie Down presented by Cinch Jeans.
The 17th annual event is scheduled to begin on Sunday with the gates opening at 10:30am at the Lee County Sheriff’s Posse Arena.
Admission is $20.
The rider intros and the roping start at 1pm.

The ropers are going to compete in a 3-Head and Short Round format for a payout of over $120,000.
New to the event this year, is the Invitational Youth Mugging, which will showcase up-and-coming talent.
The Open Tie Down Roping Champion will receive a custom-made saddle, while the Mugging Champion and fastest time winner will receive custom rope cans. The items were crafted by Joey Sonnier Saddlery.
Concessions and vendors are also going to be open serving food and drinks.
