BRENHAM PD REPORTS ARRESTS FOR INJURY TO A CHILD, POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Brenham police made two arrests between Friday and Sunday, including one for a charge of injury to a child and another for possession of a controlled substance.
At noon on Friday, School Resource Sergeant Sierra Randle responded to the 1200 block of South Market Street regarding what police described as a possible child abuse incident. Upon arrival, Sergeant Randle reported observing indications consistent with abuse involving a juvenile. The Brenham Police Criminal Investigations Division responded and initiated an investigation, which resulted in the arrest of 42-year-old Angelica Gamboa of Brenham. Gamboa was booked at the Washington County Jail on a charge of Injury to a Child/Elderly/Disabled Individual with Intent to Cause Bodily Injury.
Around 9:15 p.m. Sunday, Sergeant Jimmy Ha conducted a traffic stop near the 1100 block of Highway 290 West. Sgt. Ha deployed K-9 Officer Maki, who detected narcotics emitting from the vehicle. After Sgt. Ha and Corporal James Catchings conducted a probable cause search, the driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Emerson Quib of Houston, was taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram.
