BRENHAM FD RESPONDS TO ACCIDENT, ILLEGAL BURNING
The Brenham Fire Department was called out four times on Thursday.
Approaching 9 a.m., firefighters and the City of Brenham Gas Department were dispatched to a gas odor in the 1300 block of Highway 105. They checked the area for a leak or smell, but after investigation, the fire department was released from the scene.
Around 9:15 a.m., units responded to a crash in the 1900 block of West Main Street. Firefighters provided traffic control until they were released by Brenham police.
Just past 12:30 p.m., BFD personnel were called out for a report of a structure fire at the Social Security office, 2901 Victory Lane. A smell was detected in the building, and after investigation, the department found the A/C circuit board was causing the smell.
Nearing 3:45 p.m., firefighters received a report of illegal burning at a location on Karen Lane. Upon arrival, they advised the residents of the city code for burning in the city and made the owner put out the fire.
