BURTON VOLLEYBALL ENDS DISTRICT WITH A PERFECT RECORD AFTER WIN OVER SNOOK
The Burton Lady Panther Volleyball Team finished the district schedule with a perfect record of 8-0 after yesterday's (Friday's) three-set sweep over Snook.
The Lady Panthers won the sets 25-12, 25-10, and 25-8.
Madalyn Henry led Burton on offense with eight kills. Lexi Broesche and Natalie Hodde added seven kills each.
The Broesche twins led the team in aces. Laci had eight, and Lexi was right behind her with seven.
Adison Harmel dished out 25 assists, while Laci Broesche added 12 assists.
On defense, Paige Fritsch finished with 16 digs, and Lexi Broesche had 12 digs.
The Lady Panthers, who are currently ranked #2 in the Texas Girls Coaches Association Poll, is now 35-9 on the season.
Burton finished first in district, while Mumford was second, and Somerville and Snook finished tied for third.
The Lady Panthers have scheduled a warmup game for the playoffs against Leon on Tuesday night at 5:30pm at the Burton High School Gym.
They will then face McDade in the Bi-District round of the playoffs on Thursday at 7:30pm at Caldwell High School. That match can be heard live on the KWHI Sports Alternate Feed beginning with the pregame at 7:15pm.
