WASHINGTON CO. APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD TO CONSIDER CONTRACT FOR REVIEWING HOMESTEAD EXEMPTIONS
The Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors will hold its next meeting on Tuesday.
Among the action items is a contract with TrueRoll for proactive homestead monitoring. Texas Tax Code requires that all county appraisal districts implement a program for the periodic review of each homestead exemption granted by the district, at least once every five years. The software services agreement is for four years with an annual cost of $11,500, but the first year has been prorated to a cost of $9,583.
Other business will include a professional services agreement with Harris Govern to update the coding in the district’s appraisal software system. The cost is of the agreement is $11,200.
The board will later take up a contract with The Master’s Touch, LLC for printing and mailing 2025 tax statements. The estimated cost is $20,616.
The board will also receive an audit report from Seidel Schroeder for the fiscal year that ended on August 31, 2024.
Additionally, board members will look to forgive the penalty and interest on a delinquent allocation payment. The appraisal district says the City of Burton’s monthly share due August 31st was received late after the initial payment was issued and mailed, but never reached the tax office. The total penalty for the payment, including interest, would be $9.86.
The board will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the appraisal district office in Brenham, 1301 Niebuhr Street.
