Sternadel was appointed in May to fill the commissioner’s seat held by his father, Luke Sternadel, who retired in April after 42 years of service to the county, including as commissioner since 2019.

Clint Sternadel has been employed by Fayette County since 2017 and is a lifelong Fayette County resident.  He says he offers a fresh perspective, a willingness to listen, and “a strong understanding of rural needs with practical leadership and fiscal responsibility.”

Sternadel says his focus during his time as commissioner has been on maintaining and improving county infrastructure, supporting public safety and ensuring the efficient use of tax dollars.  He says he wants to ensure that Fayette County’s growth is balanced with preservation, adding, “It’s important to me that the Fayette County of tomorrow is one we can all continue to be proud of, one that values hard work, supports families, and plans responsibly for the future.”

Sternadel is a 2012 graduate of Texas A&M University, with a degree in Agricultural Systems and Management.  He and his wife, Kristie, have two young children.
