WASHINGTON COUNTY STUDENT TRAVEL ASSOCIATION LAUNCHES
Brenham Junior High School Assistant Principal Will Corn and educator Ben Lewis have announced the launch of a new private effort called the Washington County Student Travel Association.
Corn and Lewis are teaming up to expand travel opportunities for students and their families in Washington County.
The duo has led or chaperoned six international trips for over 150 travelers from Washington County and the surrounding area, with another European trip planned for the summer of 2026.
Corn said they believe that young people benefit from the perspective gained from seeing more of the world, and in the priceless memories made when families travel together. He added that their hope is that the Washington County Student Travel Association can expand those opportunities.
The goal of the Travel Association is to provide safe, organized, and affordable opportunities for students and families in the community to travel domestically and internationally.
The first official WCSTA trip is going to see them heading to Japan in the summer of 2028. This is believed to be the first Japanese student travel trip offered in Washington County and is open to all school-age students; public, private, homeschool, and their families.
There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, November 13th in the Brenham Junior High Cafeteria at 6pm.
