RT-C VOLLEYBALL OUTLASTS FAYETTEVILLE TO WIN DISTRICT TITLE

It came down to the final match of the regular season, and the Round Top-Carmine Cubettes rallied from behind to defeat the Fayetteville Lady Lions 3-2 and win the District 28-A Championship.
Fayetteville won the first two sets 25-17 and 25-22. Then, it would be all RT-C the rest of the way as they took the final three sets by scores of 25-21, 25-16, and 15-10 to win the match.
The Cubettes had three players finished with double-doubles. Madison Markwardt led RT-C with 18 digs and 35 assists. Bree Dooley had the most kills in the match with 19, and she was second in digs with 17. Makayla Smith joined in with 11 kills and 12 digs.
Round Top-Carmine also got 15 digs from Liliana Salinas and 14 digs from Reagan Williams.
The Cubettes finish district play with a perfect 6-0 record. They will have a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
