BRENHAM BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT TO HEAR VARIANCE REQUESTS FOR LOT SIZE, DEPTH

The Brenham Board of Adjustment will take up two items at its next meeting on Monday.

The board will first consider a request from Katherine Cooper and Colby Crouse to combine two lots at 500 and 506 West Alamo Street, consisting of 0.26 acres and 0.17 acres.  The property at 500 West Alamo Street contains a single family home, while the property at 506 West Alamo is currently vacant.

While both lots meet the minimum lot area and lot width requirements, neither meets the 115-foot minimum lot depth.  The request is to allow an average depth of 91 feet for the combined lot.

The second request is from William Kmiec regarding 0.3755 acres at 1000 North Park Street and 103 Emile Street, made up of two single-family homes and an outdoor kitchen area.

The applicant is asking to allow a lot size of 5,569 square feet, below the minimum of 7,000 square feet, and an average lot depth of 92 feet, where 115 feet is the standard, in order to subdivide and plat the existing property into two lots.

City staff recommends approval of both items.

The board will meet Monday at 5:15 p.m. at Brenham City Hall.
