SALES TAX REBATES UP ACROSS WASHINGTON CO. FOR NOVEMBER

  

November’s batch of sales and tax distributions were up for all Washington County entities. 

The county collected $414,893 in November’s payment, up 6.18 percent from its $390,719 rebate in November of last year.  So far in 2025, the county has received $4,498,724, an increase of 6.3 percent from the $4,231,769 taken in through November 2024.

The City of Brenham’s rebate this month was $888,032, 7.1 percent more than what it brought in last November, at $829,119.  The city’s receipts to this point in the year come out to $9,675,383, up 5.57 percent from the $9,164,112 over the same timeframe in 2024.

The City of Burton reported a $15,046 payment this month, which is 4.64 percent more than its $14,379 rebate from November of a year ago.  The city’s total collections this year sit at $149,468 compared to $146,676 through this time last year, an increase of 1.9 percent.

Acting Comptroller Kelly Hancock announced $1.3 billion in local sales tax allocations this month, 6.4 percent more than in November 2024 and 4.8 percent above the year-to-date payment last year.

November’s allocations are based on sales made in September by businesses that report tax monthly and on sales made in July, August and September by quarterly filers.
