18-WHEELER CRASH, THREE COLLISIONS WITH DEER AMONG BRENHAM FD’S RESPONSES WEDNESDAY
The Brenham Fire Department was called out five times on Wednesday.
One of the responses was for a transportation incident with entrapment close to 7:30 p.m. at Highway 36 North near Tommelson Creek Road. Members of the Brenham Fire Department and Gay Hill Volunteer Fire Department found an 18-wheeler tractor trailer resting on a vehicle. Firefighters removed the patient from inside the vehicle after the tractor trailer was removed from the top of the vehicle.
Three calls came in for vehicles that had struck a deer, including around 10:15 a.m. in the 1000 block of West Blue Bell Road, 6:15 p.m. in the 4800 block of Highway 36 South, and 8:45 p.m. at Highway 36 North and Fritz Road. The fire department did not report any injuries.
Additionally, shortly after 5:30 p.m., BFD personnel were dispatched to the 1000 block of West Lubbock Street for a report of a gas smell outside the home. Upon arrival, they did not pick up any readings on the gas detector. The City of Brenham Gas Department made location and released firefighters from the call.
