BRENHAM FD RESPONDS THURSDAY TO DIESEL SPILL, FIRE ALARM
The Brenham Fire Department was called out twice on Thursday.
Shortly after 2:15 p.m., units responded to Krause Elementary School, 2201 East Stone Street, for an alarm sounding. They found nothing showing from the exterior of the building. An employee advised that someone was making popcorn, which set the alarm off. The department reset the alarm and returned to service.
Around 3:15 p.m., members of the Brenham Fire Department were dispatched to the 4200 block of FM 390 East to assist the Prairie Hill Volunteer Fire Department at the scene of a wreck with fuel leaking. Brenham firefighters helped mitigate the diesel spill and returned to the station, while Prairie Hill volunteers remained on location.
