BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO SIX CALLS ON SUNDAY
The Brenham Fire Department responded to six calls on Sunday.
For the first call, the Brenham Fire Department was dispatched to the 1400 Block of South Jackson Street at 7:30am. BFD made the location and found that the smoke detectors had bad batteries in them, so they changed out the batteries, and returned to service.
BFD personnel were summoned to a reported gas odor leak at the 2100 block of US Highway 290 West at 9:15 am. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find the smell was an electrical issue. They waited until Bluebonnet Electric made the location, and returned to service.
The Brenham Fire Department was later sent to a possible vehicle fire at College Ave and South Jackson Street just after 12:30pm. BFD made the location to find no fire. They checked the vehicle over and moved it out of the roadway.
BFD units were then dispatched to 607 South Baylor Street just after 1:30pm for a gas odor. BFD stood by with the City of Brenham Gas Department.
The Brenham Fire Department went to the 1100 Block of West Jefferson Street for a smoke investigation. BFD made the location to find out it was coming from the resident’s barbeque pit in the rear of the residence.
For the last call, BFD personnel were dispatched to the 1700 Block of East Stone Street just after 7pm. Firefighters made the location to find a pull station activated. BFD reset the alarm and returned to service.
