WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS FIVE OVER THE WEEKEND
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office made five arrests on four separate calls over the weekend.
On Friday just before noon, Corporal Salinas conducted a warrant check on a subject in the 17,800 block of Highway 105. The subject fled on foot to an abandoned house in the 19,000 block of Sweed Road. Additional deputies responded to the location, and helped to apprehend the subject. 40-year-old Justin James Rogers of Somerville was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail where he was charged with Evading Arrest or Detention and a parole warrant for Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle.
Later that night, just before 8:30pm, Sergeant Zavala attempted to conduct a traffic stop for speeding in the 3700 block of FM 50. The vehicle continued to flee, and eventually crashed into a barrier in the 3400 block of Highway 105. The driver was taken into custody and contraband was located during the inventory of their vehicle. 25-year-old Brennon Jackie Taylor of Buna was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Evading Arrest or Detention with Vehicle, Unlawful Carrying Weapon, Reckless Driving, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
On Saturday morning around 8:45am, deputies responded to a lapsed burglary call in the 10,700 block of New Wehdem Road. After speaking with the owner, it was determined that the matter was civil in nature. While at the location, two individuals known to have active warrants were identified and taken into custody. Both were transported to the Washington County Jail for booking.
27-year-old Christopher John Stefanik was charged with a Motion to Revoke Probation for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, Theft of Property Greater Than $100, Accident Involving Damage to Vehicle Greater Than $200, and Evading Arrest or Detention.
33-year-old Ashley Michelle Taylor of Brenham was charged with a Motion to Revoke Probation for Driving While Intoxicated.
The final call came in on Saturday just after 8:30pm. Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a disturbance in the 13,600 block of Highway 105 in which shots were fired. During the investigation, it was determined that a verbal argument had escalated and that the suspect had threatened the victim with a handgun by firing rounds in their direction.
49-year-old Patrick Lamont Wilson of Washington was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail where he was charged with Deadly Conduct - Discharge of a Firearm.
