WASHINGTON COUNTY COURTHOUSE RESTORATION WORK TO BEGIN WEDNESDAY
Downtown Brenham businesses and property owners received an important update regarding the Washington County Courthouse Exterior Restoration Project.
Main Street Manager Leigh Linden sent out an e-mail advising owners that the project officially kicks off tomorrow (Wednesday). It is expected to take about 250 days to complete. The final estimated completion date is Monday, July 27, 2026.
The work will follow an 8-days-on and 6-days-off cycle with work being done between the hours of 7am to 5:30pm unless extended hours are required to meet project deadlines.
Linden advised that parking around the Courthouse Square will become more limited during the project.
County employees should use designated alternative parking areas as required.
Additionally, elected official parking on the north side will not be available once Phase 2 begins on the North & West sides.
Contractors have also been instructed not to park around the Courthouse Square.
They will need to use the designated material loading zones indicated in their plans, then relocate to the parking lots on the North & South sides of the courthouse.
If anyone has any questions or concerns during the project, they can contact the County Judge's office at 979-277-6220.
