FAYETTE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS TWO ON DRUG CHARGES

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men during the early morning hours on Wednesday for drug related charges.

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that Deputy Josh Jones conducted a traffic stop on a 2011 Subaru for a traffic violation around 2:30am.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on Highway 71 near Ellinger.

After contact was made with the driver, Jones noticed a strong odor of Marijuana was coming from the vehicle.

A consent to search was given and both occupants got out of the vehicle.

Deputy Jason Fowler arrived and assisted Jones at the scene.

Jones located a Marijuana Bong, paraphernalia, Marijuana, and THC gummies.

The deputies arrested 26-year-old Christopher McComas of California for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Meanwhile, 31-year-old Gabrielle Mirelez of San Marcos was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.

Both were transported and booked in at the Dan. R. Beck Justice Center in La Grange.
