CUB BASKETBALL WRAPS UP CUB CLASSIC OVER THE WEEKEND

This year's Cub Basketball Classic resulted in a win and three close losses for the Brenham Cub Basketball Team.

The Cubs opened the tournament with a 53-51 overtime loss to Caney Creek on Thursday afternoon. Jayden Hebert led Brenham with 21 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocks. Roderick Martin added 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Cubs bounced back with a 57-42 win over San Antonio Marshall on Thursday night. Jayden Hebert led Brenham again with 26 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Roderick Martin added 13 points and seven rebounds. Dawud Majied finished with 10 points and four rebounds.

On Friday, the Cubs lost to Klein Collins 59-54. In that game, Hebert had 15 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists. Dawud Majied added 14 points and three rebounds.

Then, on Saturday, Brenham finished the tournament with a 60-56 loss to Tomball Memorial. Lamarion Roberson finished with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and two assists. Dawud Majied chipped in with 16 points and four rebounds.

Stats on the last two games are not yet available, but we will update this story when we get them.

Jayden Hebert was named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Cubs are back in action tonight (Monday) against Temple at 5:30pm as part of the Bell County Clash at Little River Academy High School.
