MOREAU BECOMES FOURTH CANDIDATE IN FAYETTE COUNTY JUDGE’S RACE
The Fayette County Judge’s race now has a fourth candidate.
Former Fayette County Emergency Management Coordinator Craig Moreau has filed the paper work to run in the March 3 Republican Primary.
Moreau joins Fayette County EMS Director Josh Vandever, Flatonia City Councilman and former U.S. Army Helicopter Pilot Josh Homan, and local land surveyor William Bernsen in the candidate field to replace Dan Mueller.
Mueller is not seeking re-election.
Moreau previously ran for County Judge in 2022, and lost to Mueller in a run-off election.
Mueller dismissed Moreau from his Emergency Management Coordinator position on his first day in office.
According to the Fayette County Record, Moreau is currently serving ten years’ probation after pleading guilty to carrying a gun inside a bar.
The incident in question occurred on July 28 in LaGrange. Moreau accidentally shot himself and a woman while inside the facility.
The deadline to file for office in the primary is coming up next Monday, December 8.
