VISIT BRENHAM GETTING READY FOR MORE HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES
The staff at Visit Brenham is getting ready for some upcoming activities this holiday season.
The staff is participating in Downtown Brenham’s Home for the Holidays Sip & Shop event next Saturday, December 13.
From 11 am-3pm, the Brenham/Washington County Visitor Center at 115 West Main Street is offering wassail, cookies and unique gift options.
Local authors Sharon Brass and Charles Swenson with Dr. Tina Henderson will be on hand to sign copies of their recently published books.
Brass is the author of A Century of Simon, a 92-page hardbound book commemorating 100 years of the historic restored theatre.
Swenson and Henderson authored Voices of Camptown, a collection of stories that shine a light on the life of Texas Blacks after Emancipation.
At 12:30 pm, visitors can enjoy a holiday musical performance by the No Limits Youth Ministry from the New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church.
The following Friday, December 19, the Barnhill Center has a showing of the movie, Polar Express, in the historic theatre next door to the Visitor Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
Prior to the movie, there will be a pre-show party designed for kids 12 years old and younger. The party features some sweet treats, kid’s activities, and a surprise jolly guest from the North Pole.
The pre-show party begins at 6:00 pm in the Bullock Ballroom upstairs at the Barnhill Center. Tickets to the pre-show party are limited. To attend the pre-show party, each attendee regardless of age must purchase a pre-show party ticket with their movie ticket.
