BRENHAM FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND MONDAY TO TWO ACCIDENTS, STRUCK GAS LINE
The Brenham Fire Department was called out four times on Monday.
At 11 a.m., firefighters responded to an alarm at Independence Coffee Company, 2815 Highway 290 West. They found nothing showing from the exterior of the building and no smoke or fire inside the building. After resetting the alarm, the department returned to service.
Just past 11:30 a.m., units were dispatched to Rhames Avenue and Huisache Street for a report of a gas line being hit. Members of the fire department and City of Brenham Gas Department found a contractor had hit a gas line, and the gas department proceeded to repair the line.
Nearing 12:30 p.m., BFD members went out to the 800 block of Hosea Street for a transportation incident. They discovered a single vehicle had hit an irrigation pipe, with no injuries. After the water was shut off, firefighters cleared the call.
A few minutes after 7 p.m., personnel received a report of a transportation incident at Highway 290 West and Highway 36 North. There, they found a two-vehicle accident with fluids leaking. Units mitigated the spill, returning to the station once the vehicles were removed from the roadway.
