TWO ACCIDENT CALLS WEDNESDAY FOR BRENHAM FD

The Brenham Fire Department responded to four calls on Wednesday.

Just after 4 p.m., units were dispatched to an accident at Highway 290 West and Hickory Bend Road, responding to a report of a two-vehicle crash with possible entrapment.  They assisted EMS with patient care and triage and helped blocked the scene with an apparatus for scene safety.  The department said there was a total of three patients on scene, and two were transported by EMS to the hospital.

Shortly before 4:15 p.m., personnel were called out for a gas odor at the corner of East Blue Bell Road and Highway 105.  After investigating for the presence of gas near the intersection using air monitors, nothing was found.

Approaching 11:30 p.m., firefighters went out to an accident in the 2800 block of Highway 290 West, where they found a two-vehicle crash.  The department provided scene safety and checked the patients for injuries.  EMS was called for one patient with minor injuries.

Close to 11:45 p.m., BFD members responded to Parklane Villas, 800 Hosea Street, for a smoke investigation.  After checking into a report of smoke on the stairs of the apartment, they found no sign of smoke or fire.
