LADY PANTHER BASKETBALL OPENS DISTRICT WITH A WIN OVER SNOOK
The Burton Lady Panther Volleyball Team opened up District 26-2A play with a 64-31 win over the Snook Lady Blue Jays on Friday.
It was raining 3-pointers at the Snook High School Gym. As a team, Burton hit 12 shots from beyond the arc. Lexi Broesche and Harper Hodde had five 3-pointers each.
The Lady Panthers jumped out to an early 23-8 lead by the end of the first quarter. Burton won the second quarter 13-12 to take a 36-20 halftime lead.
Coming out of the locker room, the Lady Panthers put their foot on the gas, and outscored the Lady Blue Jays 28-11 in the second half (15-7 in the 3rd, and 13-4 in the 4th) to secure the win.
Lexi Broesche led the way with 21 points, 4 rebounds, 8 steals, and an assist. Harper Hodde added 19 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and an assist.

The Lady Panthers return to action on Saturday when they host the Burton Tournament. They will take on the Brenham JV in the opening game at 9am.
