SHERIFF’S OFFICE BOOKS IN SUSPECTS FOR CHILD SEX ASSAULT, CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE POSSESSION

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported three weekend jail bookings.

Rose Mary Finney
(Washington Co. Jail)

Just past 1:15 p.m. Friday, Sergeant Corey Himebaugh initiated a traffic stop at Highway 290 West and Hoppers Lane for various vehicle violations.  Upon making contact, the sheriff’s office detected an odor of marijuana and conducted a search of the vehicle, which resulted in the discovery of methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia.  The driver, 47-year-old Rose Mary Finney of Austin, was taken to the Washington County Jail on charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, No Driver’s License, Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, 4-200 Grams, and Prohibited Substance/Item in a Correctional Facility.

Bobby Dion Brooks Jr.
(Washington Co. Jail)

Close to 1:45 a.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s office was contacted by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, requesting a prisoner transport.  The Harris County Sheriff’s Office had detained 22-year-old Bobby Dion Brooks Jr. of Webster, who had active warrants.  Deputy Christopher Holmes met officers in Waller County and assumed custody of Brooks, who was then transported to the Washington County Jail on two counts of Sexual Assault of a Child.

Shortly before 2:15 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to an accident in the 8900 block of Highway 290 East.  The driver reportedly displayed signs of intoxication and, after further investigation, was taken into custody.  20-year-old Ismael Mendez Sanchez of Brenham was taken to the Washington County Jail and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
