BRENHAM FD PUTS OUT VEHICLE FIRE

The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls on Sunday, including a vehicle fire.

At 11 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire in the 2400 block of South Market Street.  They made location to find one vehicle fully involved.  The department used handlines to extinguish the fire and stood by until a wrecker arrived to remove the vehicle.

Earlier in the morning, around 8:15 a.m., units responded to a fire alarm at a home in the 2200 block of Glenda Boulevard.  Dispatch gave proper passcode to the alarm company prior to the fire department’s arrival, so firefighters returned to service.

Approaching 5:45 p.m., BFD members were called out for a gas odor at a home in the 1100 block of East Main Street.  Upon arrival, they found an appliance had an issue which caused the odor, and they ventilated the building before clearing the call.
