CUB SOCCER FALLS TO BRAZOSPORT 3-2 IN BAY CITY TOURNAMENT FINALS

After dropping their first game in the Bay City Tournament, the Brenham Cub Soccer Team bounced back with a pair of wins on Friday to put them in the finals. Unfortunately, they came up just short against Brazosport 3-2.

On Friday, the Cubs defeated Bay City 3-1. Josue Andrade finished with a hat trick by scoring all three of the Brenham goals. Isaac Garcia and Angel Valadez had assists.

Then in the second game on Friday, the Cubs beat West Columbia 2-1. Garcia scored one of the goals off of an assist from Andrade, and then Valadez scored the other goal off of an assist from Garcia.

On Saturday, Brazosport slipped past Brenham 3-2 in the finals. The Cubs received goals from Chris Calix and Valadez. Garcia added another assist.

On a side note, the Brenham JV placed third in the JV division of the tournament.

Next up, the Cubs (2-2) will be heading to Magnolia today (Monday) for a non-district match. The JV play at 5pm, followed by the Varsity at 7pm. They are also going to host the Blue Bell Showcase this weekend at Cub Stadium.
