BRENHAM PD REPORTS ARRESTS FOR ASSAULT, TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS
Brenham police arrested three people on Monday, including for assault and various traffic infractions.
At 10 a.m., Sergeant Jose Perez conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of West Alamo Street. The driver, 56-year-old Christopher Mathis of Brenham, was placed in custody for Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility and for Failure to Signal a Turn. Mathis was transported to the Washington County Jail and released to jail staff.
Just after 3:15 p.m., Officer Darrell Nunn Jr. was dispatched to the 700 block of South Jackson Street in reference to a disturbance in progress. The subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of 29-year-old Darshawn Veal of Brenham for three outstanding warrants and 28-year-old Ashley Carter of Brenham for Assault Family Violence Causing Bodily Injury. Veal’s outstanding warrants were out of Washington County, including two for Unrestrained Child (4-16) Not Secured by Safety Belt and for Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
