BURTON LADY PANTHERS GET A ROAD WIN OVER IOLA

The Burton Lady Panther Basketball Team went on the road and came away with a hard fought 54-48 win over the Iola Bulldogs on Tuesday evening.

Burton jumped out to the early lead after winning the first quarter 12-8. Iola came back to outscore the Lady Panthers 13-12, which cut the Burton advantage to 24-21 at halftime.

The Lady Bulldogs also won the third quarter 12-10, which cut the Burton lead down to one, 34-33, going into the fourth quarter.

The Lady Panthers pulled away in the fourth quarter, 20-15, to get the win.

Lexi Broesche led the way for Burton with 29 points and six steals. Mya Rodriguez added 14 points and six rebounds.

With the win, the Lady Panthers are now 20-4 overall, and 3-0 in district play. Next up, they will travel to Bremond on Friday at 6:15pm.
