WASHINGTON COUNTY COMISSIONERS SCHEDULE TWO MEETINGS FOR NEXT WEEK

The Washington County Commissioners Court has a pair of upcoming meetings scheduled.

On Monday, the Commissioners are going to meet in a workshop session at 10am at Washington County EMS Station #2 at 1875 Highway 290 West.

The workshop is going to feature a discussion and overview of Economic Development.

The Commissioners are then going to hold their regular meeting on Tuesday at 9am at the Washington County Courthouse.

Among the agenda items is a public hearing regarding the proposed creation of Reinvestment Zone Number 54 for commercial tax phase-in on a certain parcel of land on property at 207/209 Main Street.

Moorman Tate, LLP plans to completely refurbish the second floor of the building with the intent of moving the law firm upstairs and leasing the first floor to a new tenant.

The property owner has hired an architectural firm and will modernize the space with updated electrical systems, upgraded HVAC and energy-efficient lighting, while keeping the building’s historical character.

The total capital investment is estimated at $2 million.

After the hearing, the commissioners will be taking up a resolution adopting a commercial tax phase-in agreement between the County and Brenham Main Street Holdings.

The resolution was approved by the City of Brenham this past Thursday.
