BRENHAM FD RESPONDS MONDAY TO CONTROLLED BURN, ACCIDENT
The Brenham Fire Department was called out twice on Monday and three times early this (Tuesday) morning.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m. Monday, members of the Brenham Fire Department and Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the 7400 block of Chadwick Hogan Road for a report of a grass fire. They made location to find a controlled burn, and they advised the property owner to call the controlled burn in to dispatch in the future.
A few minutes past 8:15 p.m., a transportation incident was called in from the 2400 block of Highway 290 East. Units found a single-vehicle accident with no injuries and cleaned the highway off, returning to service once the vehicle and trailer were removed from the roadway.
Close to 3:45 a.m. today, firefighters responded to Lauraine Lane for a report of smoke in the area. However, upon arrival, they could not find any signs of smoke or fire.
Just shy of 4 a.m., BFD personnel went out to a home in the 2500 block of South Market Street for a report of a smoke smell inside. Nothing was showing from the exterior of the home, and after checking the house, they did not find anything inside or around the residence.
Around 5:30 a.m., the department was called to Kruse Village, 1700 East Stone Street, for a fire alarm. Nothing was showing from the outside of the building. Firefighters learned that a resident had pulled the fire alarm. No smoke or fire was found, so the alarm was reset.
