CUB BASKETBALL DOMINATES RUDDER FOR FIRST DISTRICT WIN

After three losses to start District 17-5A play, the Brenham Cub Basketball Team took out their frustrations on the Rudder Rangers with a 76-29 victory on Tuesday night.

The Cubs jumped out to an early 23-5 lead in the first quarter. They would expand on their advantage by outscoring the Rangers 14-5 in the second quarter. This gave Brenham 35-10 lead at halftime.

Brenham continued putting on the pressure as they won the third quarter 15-10, and the fourth quarter 24-9.

Jayden Hebert led the way with 26 points and nine rebounds. Roderick Martin and Tre'Lyn Kelly added 10 points each.

With the win, the Cubs are now 15-10 on the season and 1-3 in district.

Next up, Brenham will be returning home to take on Lake Creek on Friday night at 6:30pm. KWHI will have live coverage beginning with the pregame at 6:15pm on 1280AM, 101.7FM, and KWHI.com.
