BRENHAM PD REPORTS ARRESTS FOR WARRANTS, DWI
Brenham police on Wednesday arrested two people on warrants and another for driving while intoxicated.
Just past 10:15 a.m., Officer LeDarion Jenkins initiated a traffic stop in the 2100 block of South Market Street. Police say their investigation revealed that the driver, identified as 34-year-old Shekyra Nemonae Punchard of Brenham, had an active Harris County warrant for Failure to Appear. Punchard was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where she was booked in on the warrant for Theft Less Than $100 with Previous Conviction.
At 11 a.m., Officer Jenkins was dispatched to the Washington County Jail, 1206 Old Independence Road, in reference to a female subject wanting to turn herself in on an active warrant. The subject was identified as 54-year-old Kimberly Denise Penrice of Houston, who was confirmed to have an active warrant out of Brenham Municipal Court for Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility. Penrice was released to jail staff without incident.
Around 10:45 p.m., Officer Gabriel Duran responded to a two-vehicle crash in the 1900 block of FM 389. Through their investigation, police say the driver of one of the vehicles was intoxicated and operating a vehicle with a child under 15 years of age. 37-year-old Armando Peguero Alvarez of Brenham was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Under 15 Years of Age and transported to the Washington County Jail.
