A few minutes after 6:15 a.m., volunteers were dispatched to Burger King, 9011 Highway 290 East, for a reported vehicle fire with flames from the front driver-side tire.  Upon arrival, units found a vehicle with steam coming from the wheel, which the driver had put out with water bottles.  Firefighters used a thermal imager to check for hot spots and a water extinguisher to cool the wheel hub.  They then assisted the driver with changing the tire, clearing the scene close to 7 a.m.

Coming up on 7:45 a.m., while firefighters were returning equipment to service, they were dispatched to a reported structure fire as part of an alarm response with the Brenham Fire Department in the 2600 block of Schulte Boulevard.  Chappell Hill units arrived on scene and staged in case personnel were needed.  They returned to the station around 8:15 a.m.
