SEALY POLICE ANNOUNCE ARREST IN THEFT CASE
The Sealy Police Department announced this (Thursday) afternoon that an arrest has been made in connection with a theft case that occurred the end of last month.
According to Sealy Police, the suspect, 26-year-old James Fischer was booked into the Austin County Jail on charges of Theft of Property, Criminal Mischief, Evading Arrest or Detention, and Making a False Report to a Peace Officer.
The original incident occurred during the early morning hours on December 27.
Sealy Police Officers were dispatched to an alarm sounding at a business located in the 2300 Block of Highway 36 South.
Upon their arrival, officers located Fischer allegedly loading a riding lawn mower onto a truck and trailer.
Police say Fischer fled the scene on foot, and they were unable to locate him.
After a further investigation, Fischer was later located and apprehended by an outside agency.
Following the arrest, Sealy Police thanked the Austin County Sheriff’s Office and the Wallis Police Department for their assistance with the case.
