MULTIPLE ACCIDENT CALLS THURSDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department was called out six times on Thursday.

Approaching 8 a.m., firefighters responded to a crash at South Day Street and Tom Green Street.  They found a two-vehicle accident with no injuries and provided traffic control until the vehicles were moved off the roadway.

Shortly after 8 a.m., the department went out to a fire alarm at the Brenham State Supported Living Center, 4001 Highway 36 South.  After determining the alarm was false, units reset the alarm and returned to service.

Just past noon, BFD personnel were dispatched to a crash in the 500 block of Highway 290 West, where they found a vehicle on its roof and its trailer in the main lanes of Highway 290.  They provided traffic control and mitigated a fuel leak from the vehicle, clearing the scene once the vehicle and trailer were removed.  No word was available on any injuries.

Another crash in the 500 block of Highway 290 West was called in around 1 p.m.  There, firefighters located a vehicle with major damage to the driver’s side, but there were no injuries to report.  They provided traffic control before returning to the station.

Just shy of 1:15 p.m., BFD members responded to a rescue call in the 2300 block of South Market Street, but there was no incident upon making location.

A few minutes after 5:15 p.m., the department received a report of a crash at Highway 36 South and Highway 290 East.  Upon arrival, units found a two-vehicle crash with minor damage and provided traffic control.  There were no injuries.
