The board authorized the College to negotiate and execute a contract for classroom furniture with Workplace Solutions, Inc., as well as a contract with Johnson Supply for specialty training equipment.

The Workplace Solutions contract is for $221,287 and will cover the purchase of classroom, laboratory and ancillary furniture.  The Johnson Supply contract is for $109,800 and will be for HVAC training equipment.  Funding for the contracts comes from the College’s operating budget for the 2026 Fiscal Year.

The 17,000-square-foot complex, located at 30029 Binford Park Road, is being designed to expand access to workforce training and technical education in the region.  It will include three lecture classrooms, a computer learning lab, a medical learning lab, a mechatronics/advanced manufacturing lab, a skilled trades lab, and faculty and staff offices.

Construction remains scheduled for completion in May, with plans to hold classes there starting in the summer.  The new complex will be less than a block from the future site of Blinn’s Waller Campus, which is scheduled to open its first building in fall 2027.
