Story by Joe Alberico, Blinn College Sports Information
The Blinn College women’s basketball team came up short in a 67-58 Region 14 road loss to Paris Junior College on Wednesday in Paris, Texas.
The Buccaneers saw their four-game winning streak come to an end and dropped to 12-7 overall and 2-1 in region play.
“Paris outplayed us in every aspect of the game from tip-off until finish,” Blinn head coach Jeff Jenkins said. “If we don’t improve defensively it’s going to be tough for us down the stretch.”
Paris led 21-15 at the end of the first quarter and 40-32 at the end of the first half. The Dragons took a 57-49 cushion into the fourth quarter.
Sophomore forward Cynthia LeCompte and sophomore guard Jasey Campbell paced the Bucs with 15 points apiece.
Blinn’s season continues with a region home tilt against Coastal Bend College at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28. The Bucs were originally scheduled to face Panola College on the road this Saturday, but inclement weather has moved the matchup to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, in Carthage, Texas.
