BRENHAM FD RESPONDS WEDNESDAY TO CARDBOARD FIRE, ACCIDENT
The Brenham Fire Department responded to four calls on Wednesday.
Just after 10 a.m., units went out to a fire in the 2100 block of Highway 290 West, where they found a pile of cardboard from a trash truck on fire. The department extinguished the blaze and returned to service once the cardboard was picked up.
Nearing 12:15 p.m., members of the Brenham Fire Department and the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department responded to a car fire at FM 2447 and Old Chappell Hill Road. Upon making location, Brenham units were released by the Chappell Hill department.
Around 2:15 p.m., units were dispatched to a carbon monoxide alarm at Schlotzsky’s, 2606 Highway 36 South. They arrived to find the alarm going off, and they later discovered a leak at a valve and moved to control the leak. Firefighters advised the manager to get maintenance to check the valve out.
Close to 3:45 p.m., BFD members were called out to a crash in the 1300 block of West Blue Bell Road. There, they found a two-vehicle accident with no injuries, and they provided traffic control until the vehicles were moved off the roadway.
